The story

AfroDish Restaurant was birthed in October of 1997 by the husband and wife duo, Raphael and Vincencia Sarpong. The Sarpong’s immigrated to America from Ghana in the early 1980s and Mrs. Sarpong had a vision to create a restaurant where people could experience the authentic seasonings from her homeland mixed with some of the traditional dishes known across the Caribbean and other African countries. This vision turned into what is now known as the AfroDish where customers can come to experience authentic afro-caribbean cuisine. They chose the Sweet Auburn Curb Market because of its great downtown Atlanta location and its embodiment of the culture and history of the great city of Atlanta.
